Strike A Pose is a fashion editorial series for W Magazine that investigates the intersection of human movement and synthetic stillness. Through a collection of studio and street-level scenes, the work places live models within retail storefront displays, creating a surreal dialogue between the subjects and static mannequins. The execution leans into a blend of clean, polished aesthetics and theatrical lighting schemes. Photographer Carlijn Jacobs captures the series using an analogue film process, highlighting the interplay of light across reflective glass surfaces and textured couture. Creative directors Charles Levai and Kevin Tekinel anchor the art direction, while fashion editor and stylist Imruh Asha coordinates the wardrobe. The production features choreography by Eric Christison to guide the models into rigid, mannequin-like poses, complemented by hair styling by Olivier Schawalder and makeup artistry by Yadim.
