Strike A Pose is a fashion editorial series for W Magazine, captured by photographer Carlijn Jacobs. The project centers on a surreal interaction between human subjects—models Aluel Makuach, Anok Yai, and Fanta Fofana—and static mannequins, staged within urban storefront settings. The visual narrative leans into clean, high-fashion compositions that emphasize sculptural silhouettes and theatrical displays. The creative direction, led by Charles Levai and Kevin Tekinel, coordinates a distinctive aesthetic across both monochrome and vibrant frames. Fashion styling by Imruh Asha incorporates elaborate textures and patterns, supported by hair styling from Olivier Schawalder and makeup by Yadim. Utilising natural light and analogue film techniques, the series explores the tension between movement and stillness through precise, editorial staging.
