DANTE

Mar 2026
Vogue Italia leans into a striking juxtaposition of organic environments and severe architectural tailoring in its latest editorial feature, DANTE. By placing the sharp, minimalist silhouettes of high-fashion attire against the humble, vibrant backdrop of artificial grass and patterned picnic blankets, the series masterfully recontextualizes modern luxury within an everyday setting. This high-fashion editorial photography project utilizes high-contrast lighting to create an arresting low-key chiaroscuro effect, where harsh sunlight carves out dramatic shadows, emphasizing both the intricate texture of the fabric and the natural, unblemished skin of the talent. Under the watchful eye of fashion editor and stylist Lune Kuipers, the narrative focuses on clean lines and geometric motifs, effectively stripping away the noise to highlight the raw essence of each garment. The casting, curated by Michiel van Maaren, features Dantè Kedde, whose presence brings a grounded, quiet confidence to the portraits. With meticulous makeup artistry by Kathinka Gernant accentuating the subject's natural freckles, the work avoids excessive ornamentation. Instead, it relies on the technical precision of natural light and editorial minimalism to elevate the shoot into a masterclass of visual storytelling. Every frame serves as a testament to the power of contrast, proving that even the most refined luxury pieces can find a compelling, sophisticated home in the simplest of outdoor spaces.
