Vogue China Men
Harry Potter

Apr 2026
Vogue China Men channels the whimsical, high-concept world of wizardry in this fashion editorial, reimagining the iconic aesthetics of the Harry Potter universe through a sophisticated, contemporary lens. Photographed by Michelle Du Xuan, the project leans into a scholarly yet avant-garde sensibility, where traditional academic uniforms are deconstructed and remixed with vibrant textures and modern layering. Fashion editor and stylist Arthur Mayadoux crafts a visual narrative that oscillates between the gothic intimacy of a library and the playful energy of an outdoor courtyard, utilizing pieces like cable-knit sweaters, pleated skirts, and sharp-collared shirts to evoke a refined, collegiate charm. The imagery makes masterful use of cinematic lighting and chiaroscuro techniques, with models Kit Price and Tom Carlo serving as the focal point for this atmospheric series. Hair stylist Kazue Deki and makeup artist Ophelie Crommar collaborate to ensure each portrait maintains a crisp, polished finish that complements the ornate, rustic props. By incorporating elements like paper airplanes and owl motifs, the editorial captures a sense of theatrical nostalgia. The final result is a seamless fusion of luxury fashion and fantasy-themed storytelling, characterized by soft natural light and rich, high-contrast backdrops. This project successfully balances heritage style with whimsical flair, cementing its place as a standout piece of high-end editorial portraiture that feels both timeless and fresh.
