In the striking series Lights Off for The Correct Distance, photographer Anna Victoria Best masterfully explores the intersection of minimalism and high-fashion editorial portraiture. By pairing model Aluel Keror with a series of intentionally stark, clean studio environments, the project strips away visual noise to focus entirely on the architectural geometry of both the clothing and the human form. Under the precise casting direction of Jonathan Johnson, the imagery leans into a narrative of deliberate poise, where vibrant textiles and unconventional accessories—such as whimsical pointed-toe pumps and futuristic eyewear—clash beautifully against monochromatic, high-contrast backdrops.
