The Inner Child Exhibition New York presents a series of monochromatic fashion editorials that explore the intersection of avant-garde sculptural design and urban environments. Centered on wearable art, the work features metallic tubular balloon installations that mirror the human form, acting as extensions of the silhouette through elaborate crowns, headpieces, and torso-wrapped structures. Photographer Wikkie Hermkens and fashion editor and stylist Sonny Groo capture these forms against the backdrop of New York’s industrial transit architecture. The project utilizes high-contrast lighting and soft natural daylight to highlight the glossy, reflective surfaces of the inflatables, creating a balance between organic curves and the rigid, gritty surroundings of the city streets. Featuring models including Aaron Rose Philip, Jess Hu, and James Corbin, the exhibition emphasizes technical craft and sculptural lines through a stark black-and-white aesthetic.
