Andron Journal "Power"

May 2026
The Andron Journal Power issue serves as a masterclass in editorial minimalism, stripping away extraneous noise to focus entirely on the intersection of human physique and high-fashion tailoring. Captured with the precision of photographer Emil Dietrich, the series leans into a clean, sculptural aesthetic that channels a timeless, athletic energy. By utilizing a mix of studio strobe and natural light, the imagery creates a sophisticated visual dialogue between raw muscularity and the structured silhouettes of contemporary menswear. Editorial layouts, artfully curated by fashion editor and editor-in-chief Kaner Kivanc, play with split-screen diptychs and monochromatic palettes to emphasize form and shadow, reminiscent of chiaroscuro techniques. The project acts as a profound exploration of strength, featuring models Ahmad Kontar and Lenny Kragba in poses that oscillate between rigid, performance-inspired postures and fluid, expressive movement. Through the deliberate use of pinstriped suiting juxtaposed against athletic high-waisted leggings, the editorial challenges traditional gendered tropes in menswear, offering a vision that is both cerebral and physically grounded. The consistent use of neutral, grey-toned backdrops ensures that every texture, from the drape of heavy suiting fabrics to the subtle definition of skin, remains the focal point. This work exemplifies a modern editorial approach where graphic typography and stark composition elevate the humble portrait into a cohesive, high-impact narrative of physical power.
