PERFORMANCE is a fashion editorial series for V Magazine China, captured by photographer Xia Shuxi. The project explores avant-garde silhouettes and contemporary tailoring through a series of studio-based portraits featuring model Qun Ye. The imagery leans into a clean, minimalist aesthetic, utilizing neutral grey backdrops to emphasize the interplay of textures, ranging from oversized outerwear and structured jackets to sheer, layered fabrics. These compositions incorporate editorial layouts, including diptychs and split-frame designs, to balance intimate portraiture with full-body movement. Styles and techniques utilized include monochromatic palettes, natural light, and the texture of analogue film.
