Numero Netherlands
Trust

Sep 2026
Trust is a multifaceted editorial project produced for Numero Netherlands, channeling a cinematic, detective-noir narrative through a distinct high-contrast lens. The work leans into a moody, episodic structure, blending stark monochrome compositions with warm, earth-toned vignettes to explore themes of tension and intimacy. Photographer Arthur Iskandarov documents a series of staged urban encounters, utilizing the interplay of light and shadow to craft a sense of ambiguity. Fashion editor and stylist Alex Klop anchors the aesthetic in sharp tailoring, featuring trench coats, pinstriped suits, and fedoras that evoke a timeless, retro-inflected atmosphere. Model Carlos Machado serves as the central figure, navigating these meticulously composed scenes that range from candid street interactions to staged, theatrical standoffs. The project makes extensive use of analogue film techniques, embracing grain and low-key chiaroscuro lighting to elevate the raw, textured quality of the imagery. By weaving together disparate frames into split-panel layouts, the production establishes a rhythmic visual language that moves between architectural portraits and conceptual still lifes.
