For The Perfect Magazine’s 'Rust' project, photographer Thibaut Grevet and fashion editor Jahleel Weaver create a series of high-contrast fashion editorials centered on model Anok Yai. The work oscillates between studio-based chiaroscuro portraits and raw, nocturnal outdoor scenes, often incorporating fractured glass and industrial wreckage to anchor the sculptural, avant-garde silhouettes. Across the edit, the imagery leans into a moody, cinematic aesthetic characterized by tactile textures and aggressive lighting choices. From monochromatic studio studies to gritty, flash-lit sequences involving unconventional automotive settings, the project prioritizes raw form and kinetic energy. The editorial team is supported by intricate hair styling from Jacob Kajrup and bold, precise makeup by Ana Takahashi, with set design by Afra Zamara providing the grounded, often industrial backdrop for the series.
