The Greatest Magazine
The Journeying

Mar 2026
The Journeying, a visually arresting editorial fashion project for The Greatest Magazine, masterfully blurs the line between contemporary style and surrealist storytelling. Under the editorial guidance of Editor-in-Chief Matteo Greco, the series navigates the intersection of lifestyle and portrait photography, utilizing a sophisticated interplay of textures and carefully curated props. Photographer Matthieu Delbreuve employs a diverse technical range, moving seamlessly from the sharp, controlled precision of studio strobe lighting to the evocative, nostalgic grain of 35mm analogue film. The visual narrative leans into editorial minimalism, with models positioned against sparse sand mounds or layered, draped fabric backdrops that emphasize a clean, sculptural aesthetic. Styling by Alice Fayre brings a tactile depth to the collection, with structured wool hats and intricate floral prints punctuating the otherwise neutral, muted color palette. Casting director Isadora Banaudi and model Boy Dijkhuis contribute to the project’s intimate and focused atmosphere, where subtle directional lighting and chiaroscuro techniques highlight both the subjects' direct, unwavering gazes and the raw detail of the botanical elements. Whether capturing high-contrast black-and-white portraits or cool-toned, cinematic compositions, The Journeying functions as a cohesive study in movement and stillness. The project successfully transforms the studio environment into a landscape of quiet, dreamlike exploration, grounding high-fashion sensibilities within a deeply grounded, raw, and unmistakably artistic framework.
