Description

The Great British Storefront is a fashion editorial series that juxtaposes contemporary high-fashion garments against the everyday aesthetic of local independent shops. Photographed by Edward Cooke and styled by fashion editor Shuvan Khuntia, the project captures models including Akuch Chol, Hannah Vincent, Hatty Pellegrino, Katie Mullaney, and Taka across various urban locations. Utilizing a documentary-style approach, the series highlights the textures of the apparel—ranging from structured architectural silhouettes to intricate botanical detailing—against the weathered brickwork and signage of traditional retail environments. Each portrait leans into a vertical framing, characterized by an analogue film quality and soft natural light that emphasizes the contrast between high-end styling and gritty, street-level retail settings.
