The Blank Page Magazine Days of the Lion 2025

About

Days of the Lion is an editorial series commissioned for The Blank Page Magazine, featuring a collection of portraiture that leans into a cinematic, observational aesthetic. Photographed by Eric James Guillemain, the project captures its subject through a sequence of candid and posed moments set against urban and interior backdrops. The execution relies on high-contrast monochromatic grading and distinct film grain, utilising analogue film techniques to highlight the textures of herringbone tweed, pinstriped tailoring, and architectural elements like wrought iron and brick. Through the use of natural light and chiaroscuro lighting, the series maintains a moody, gritty atmosphere throughout its editorial narrative.
