Spur Magazine
SPUR X GUCCI

Jun 2026
The collaboration between Spur Magazine and Gucci elevates the luxury fashion editorial format by stripping back the artifice, favoring a clean, hyper-focused aesthetic that centers on iconic craftsmanship. Shot by photographer Bungo Tsuchiya, the series utilizes sharp studio strobe lighting to emphasize the structural integrity of Gucci’s heritage accessories, from monogrammed canvas bags to the hardware-heavy footwear. Through a restrained lens, the work channels an editorial minimalism that allows the distinct textures of leather bomber jackets and tailored blazers to take center stage, creating a cohesive visual dialogue between heritage fashion and contemporary portraiture. With grooming by hair stylist Hirokazu Endo and makeup artist Azusa Kumakura, the aesthetic remains polished and intentional, providing a crisp, high-end frame for the featured pieces. Model Annabel van Tongeren anchors these commercial compositions with a dynamic yet understated presence, navigating the studio environment with the ease expected of modern luxury marketing. By integrating subtle Japanese editorial text alongside the minimalist grey backdrops, the project successfully balances global commercial appeal with a nuanced, elevated design sensibility. This campaign proves that even the most recognizable luxury motifs can feel refreshed when approached with a rigorous, detail-oriented eye, ensuring that every stitch and stripe is captured with clinical, fashion-forward precision.
