Schön! Switzerland
The Fabulist with Julien De Saint-Jean

Jun 2026
In The Fabulist, an evocative editorial feature for Schön! Switzerland, actor Julien De Saint-Jean occupies a space where high fashion portraiture meets conceptual art. Captured with an expert eye by photographer Louis Teran, the series leans into an aesthetic of editorial minimalism, where the focus remains strictly on the interplay of texture, movement, and negative space. Working alongside fashion editor and stylist Simon Gensowski, the project explores the fluidity of contemporary menswear through a lens of structured tailoring and avant-garde layering. The visual narrative relies on a recurring motif of torn white paper and sculptural studio backdrops, transforming the set into a dynamic, shifting environment. Utilizing both studio strobe and natural light, the images emphasize the tactile quality of wool knits, pinstriped shirting, and intricate denim details. Under the curation of casting director Marvin Latournald, De Saint-Jean provides a grounded, versatile performance, effortlessly transitioning between high-key, bright compositions and stark, black-and-white portraits. By blending clean graphic lines with mid-movement spontaneity, the project avoids the static nature of traditional fashion spreads, instead favoring a narrative rhythm that feels both polished and intentionally raw. The result is a sophisticated showcase that treats each outfit as a sculptural element, reinforcing the magazine’s reputation for capturing the intersection of luxury fashion and bold, character-driven storytelling through a precise, contemporary creative lens.
