In this evocative series for Re-Edition Magazine, photographer Kito Muñoz explores the intersection of raw materiality and high-fashion architecture. The project serves as a masterclass in editorial portraiture, stripping away environmental artifice to focus exclusively on the interplay between the human form and the structural integrity of avant-garde garments. By leaning into a monochromatic aesthetic, the visuals emphasize textures ranging from beaded, organic surfaces to the crisp, rigid lines of pleated wool and glossy leather. The work channels a sense of deliberate, minimalist restraint, where the styling by Gabrielle Marceca transforms each outfit into a sculptural component of the frame. Techniques such as low-key, chiaroscuro-inspired lighting elevate these portraits beyond traditional fashion imagery, imbuing the subjects—including models like Anasofia Negrutsa and Fatou Kebbeh—with an introspective, almost cinematic presence.
