Description

In the experimental short film Delilah, Psalmship creates a jarringly beautiful intersection between the cold geometry of industrial advancement and the quiet persistence of nature. The project leans into a surreal narrative structure, utilizing cinematic vignettes to document the unsettling presence of local wildlife within an active construction zone. Throughout the film, unfinished wooden house frames and muddy paths are juxtaposed against unexpected encounters with a talking rabbit, a hawk perched on a utility pole, and a bat suspended in the shadow of development. By employing a gritty, desaturated color palette, the production effectively heightens the dreamlike atmosphere, turning mundane construction debris into a stage for the uncanny. The visual language relies heavily on live-action technique layered with subtle VFX to integrate these animals into the site, balancing the harsh reality of urban expansion with the fragility of the natural world. With production handled by Nick Haynes, the project thrives on its commitment to artistic, cinematic tension, refusing to offer simple answers to the questions it poses about progress and displacement. The result is an evocative piece of work within the music, media and entertainment industry that lingers in the mind, forcing the viewer to confront the strange, quiet lives unfolding beneath the relentless hum of the city.
