Pierre Hardy
Fall 2023 Ad Campaign

Jan 2024
The Fall 2023 ad campaign for Pierre Hardy serves as a masterclass in editorial minimalism, leaning into surrealism and high-contrast composition to elevate the brand's latest collection of bags and footwear. Under the discerning creative direction of Pierre Hardy and stylist Marie-Amélie Sauvé, the campaign rejects traditional lifestyle tropes in favor of a graphic, studio-driven aesthetic. Captured by photographer Rory Van Millingen, the imagery utilizes consistent studio strobe lighting to flatten the space, allowing the bold, saturated color blocking of the hosiery and knitwear to act as a primary visual anchor. The series is defined by an avant-garde play on geometry, where inverted portraits and unconventional poses force the viewer to reconsider the tactile nature of leather accessories. The meticulous grooming choices, including striking teal and green eyeshadow applications by makeup artist Karin Westerlund and sleek hair styling by Alexander Soltermann, further enhance the campaign's playful, high-fashion narrative. By stripping away extraneous environment, the project places the product at the center of a curated, modernist frame, where the stark vertical typography of the Pierre Hardy branding reinforces the label's architectural heritage. It is a precise, visually arresting exercise that demonstrates how intentional styling and technical lighting can transform commercial footwear and accessory photography into a compelling, cohesive editorial statement.
