Sandy Shadows is a fashion editorial series for Numero Russia, conceptualized and captured by photographer Mattia Holm with fashion styling by Aleksandra Markovic. The collection frames high-fashion silhouettes against desert landscapes and abandoned interiors, utilizing natural light and chiaroscuro techniques to heighten the surreal, earthy atmosphere of each frame. The editorial leans into texture and movement, featuring detailed lace, jacquard, and ruffled garments that interact with the surrounding environments of shifting sand dunes and weathered architecture. Through the use of analogue film and golden hour lighting, the series emphasizes a contrast between sculptural fashion design and the raw, muted tones of the desert setting.
