Tania Santana

Jun 2026
In this striking series for Numero Netherlands, titled Tania Santana, the collaborative vision of photographer David Vicho and fashion editor Sergi Padial converges to redefine the boundaries of modern portraiture. The project operates within the realm of luxury fashion, leaning heavily into a minimalist editorial aesthetic that prioritizes sculptural silhouettes and tactile depth. Through a sophisticated interplay of high-contrast black and white photography and nuanced color studies, the editorial captures Santana with a blend of raw, cinematic intensity and controlled poise. Vicho utilizes a range of lighting techniques, from natural light to precise studio strobes, to accentuate the architectural qualities of the garments, which include structured leather jackets and voluminous, draped skirts. The visual narrative is further enriched by the use of 35mm film textures and intentional motion blur, which lend an ethereal, dynamic energy to the compositions. By placing the subject against raw, creased muslin and neutral studio backgrounds, the team strips away visual noise, allowing the focus to settle entirely on the interplay between form, fabric, and expression. This work stands as a testament to the power of deliberate, pared-back creative direction, successfully transforming high fashion pieces into timeless, evocative imagery that emphasizes both the strength of the model and the intricate detailing of the attire.
