Description

Blisters for Numero Netherlands is a striking fashion editorial that masterfully interrogates the intersection of urban architecture and the human form. Through a series of high-contrast compositions, the project employs a raw, cinematic visual language that channels a sense of avant-garde minimalism. Captured largely in a monochromatic palette, the imagery leans into the sharp lines of structural concrete and tiled surfaces to frame its subjects. The styling balances classic luxury with transgressive silhouettes, featuring an interplay of tailored blazers, oversized corsetry, and athletic hosiery paired with stiletto heels. Photographer Sieme Hermans crafts an intimate yet detached atmosphere, utilizing natural light to accentuate skin textures and the dramatic, moody aesthetic defined by Anh Nguyaen’s intense, smudged eyeliner work. By documenting models Godwin Dekou and Jonas Vermeylen in dynamic, sometimes off-balance poses on rooftop terraces and within minimalist indoor settings, the project achieves an edgy, analogue-inspired resonance. The work effectively bridges the gap between lifestyle portraiture and high-fashion editorial, relying on the grainy texture of film-inspired captures and low-key chiaroscuro lighting to elevate the mundane into something sculptural. Each frame feels deliberately composed, focusing on the tension between the fluid, relaxed posture of the subjects and the rigid, geometric environments they inhabit, resulting in a cohesive narrative that feels both timeless and urgent in its exploration of contemporary fashion identity.
