Ryo is a fashion editorial feature for Noisé Magazine, centered on the expressive presence of model and actress Ryo Matsuura. Shot by photographer Cornelius Kaess, the project captures the subject against the raw, urban backdrop of Tokyo, emphasizing a dialogue between minimalist silhouettes and the textures of city infrastructure. The imagery leans into the tactile qualities of high-contrast styling and deliberate layering. Working with fashion editor and stylist Shunji Sawai, the team curates a sharp, geometric aesthetic that contrasts soft, voluminous quilted garments with the hard, industrial reality of concrete walls and asphalt streets. The execution favors the use of natural light and hard, directional lighting to etch stark silhouettes into the frame, further accented by the distinct, grainy texture of analogue film. Hair styling by Rie Shiraishi and casting by Clare Rhodes round out the production, resulting in a cohesive visual study of form and space.
