Ryo is a fashion editorial series for Noisé Magazine, featuring model and actress Ryo Matsuura in an array of urban environments. Captured by photographer Cornelius Kaess, the project leans into a minimalist aesthetic, utilizing natural light and hard light to emphasize the sculptural qualities of the featured wardrobe. The series showcases a range of silhouettes, from voluminous quilted outerwear to precise, tailored maxi dresses. With styling by Shunji Sawai and hair by Rie Shiraishi, the editorial employs analogue film techniques to create a grainy, tactile quality that contrasts the soft garments against industrial Tokyo backdrops and geometric stone surfaces. The casting, overseen by Clare Rhodes, maintains a focused, contemporary tone across the editorial.
