Nº21 x Wolford
Spring 2023 Ad Campaign

Jun 2023
The Spring 2023 ad campaign for the collaboration between luxury fashion houses Nº21 and Wolford is a masterclass in editorial minimalism. Through a series of stark, black-and-white portraits, photographer Sergei Antonov captures the structural elegance of the collection, leaning into a high-contrast aesthetic that emphasizes the tactile nature of the garments. With creative direction from Augusto Arduini and Nº21’s Alessandro Dell’Acqua, the campaign strips away excess to focus on the interplay between form, shadow, and silhouette. The imagery utilizes a mix of studio strobe and natural light to elevate the textures of sheer tights, intricate lace, and dense tailoring, creating a graphic, polished narrative that feels both timeless and sharp. Stylist Elodie David Touboul plays with monochromatic layering, while Paolo Soffiati’s textured, short-cropped hair styling and Luciano Chiarello’s precise makeup choices ground the models in a clean, contemplative atmosphere. By incorporating elements of low-key chiaroscuro lighting and intricate shadow play, the campaign successfully highlights the hybrid nature of the collaboration—blending Wolford’s technical hosiery expertise with the distinct, romantic edge of Nº21. The result is a series of portraits that feel like a direct dialogue between the garment and the skin, utilizing the high-key, high-contrast studio environment to force a singular focus on the collection’s sophisticated geometry and material depth.
