WHERE THE CITY SLOWS

Sep 2026
Where The City Slows is an editorial feature for My Magazine, captured by photographer Alberto Polo Iañez. The project presents a visual travelogue of Barcelona’s Poblenou neighborhood, exploring the intersection of urban architecture and quiet, everyday moments. The spreads juxtapose structural motifs, such as ornate ironwork and modernist building facades, with intimate still-life studies of fruit and daily objects. Utilizing a minimalist layout, the editorial design pairs high-contrast street photography with clean, graphic typography. The visual narrative relies on natural light, ranging from diffused, soft illumination in architectural studies to sharp, hard light that punctuates the graphic quality of the city streets.
