Matières Fécales
Spring 2026 Ad Campaign

May 2026
The Matières Fécales Spring 2026 Ad Campaign leans into a bold, avant-garde dialogue between the mundane and the surreal, solidifying the brand's position at the edge of luxury fashion. Creative directors Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran cultivate a visual language that is both provocative and meticulously structured, utilizing a mix of studio strobe lighting for intense, high-contrast portraits and natural light for organic, lifestyle-oriented street captures. The collection, featuring graphic-heavy casual wear and sculptural, corseted silhouettes, finds a grounding in the juxtaposition of soft textures—like the recurring motif of the pale pink rose—against the harsh, architectural lines of urban stone staircases and minimalist backdrops. With photography by Steven Raj, the imagery oscillates between intimate editorial portraits and wider compositions where the models, drawn from the label’s community, are rendered in dynamic movement against the blur of everyday pedestrian traffic. The project employs a live-action technique to bridge the gap between high-fashion editorial polish and raw, street-level authenticity. By obscuring features with masks and visors, the campaign forces a deeper focus on the interplay of textiles, from heavy denim and vintage-wash fabrics to sheer hosiery and structured leather accessories. This body of work serves as a masterclass in conceptual branding, consistently delivering a high-fashion aesthetic that remains deeply rooted in the subversive identity of the house.
