Kody Phillips

Fall 2025 Ad Campaign
Date

Aug 2025

Description

The Fall 2025 campaign for Kody Phillips is a masterclass in atmospheric storytelling, leaning into a nostalgic, theatrical aesthetic that bridges the gap between luxury fashion houses and the evocative grit of early-to-mid-century performance art. Creative director and photographer Kizzy Kalu constructs a high-concept world that feels simultaneously like an intimate stage production and a high-end editorial spread. By utilizing low-key chiaroscuro lighting and crisp studio strobe techniques, the imagery transforms vintage motifs—such as retro chrome microphones, finger-wave hairstyles, and dramatic velvet curtains—into a modern, cinematic landscape. The project finds its strength in the deliberate juxtaposition of textures, pairing the ruggedness of leather bomber jackets and cargo trousers with the delicate ornamentation of beaded crystals and ostrich feathers. The visual narrative, captured with the assistance of videographer Sawyer Oubre, channels a moody, cabaret-inspired glamour that keeps the brand's identity at the forefront. Through these calculated compositions, the campaign reads as a sophisticated exploration of performance and poise. With model Kitty Lever anchoring the editorial portraiture, the collection presents a cohesive look that is both grounded in technical precision and liberated by its own imaginative, retro-infused staging, resulting in a distinct visual language that feels both timeless and aggressively current.
