The Marizanne Effect

Jul 2026
In The Marizanne Effect, the collaboration between photographer Cristian Martinelli and stylist Giorgia Melis yields a masterclass in editorial minimalism for the luxury fashion sector. This fashion editorial campaign strips away the superfluous to place absolute focus on the interplay of textile, silhouette, and human form. Featuring model Marizanne Visser, the project utilizes a restrained, neutral-toned environment that serves as the perfect canvas for exploring a diverse range of textures, from the high-gloss sheen of crocodile-embossed leather to the intricate, tactile complexity of lime-green bobble knitwear. The creative vision, further elevated by the precise application of beauty aesthetics by makeup artist Filippo Ferrari, balances sharp, structural tailoring against fluid, contemporary pieces. Each capture employs natural light to soften the intensity of the subjects gaze, ensuring that the portraits feel intimate yet highly polished. By oscillating between intimate close-ups and full-body compositions, the project creates a rhythmic visual narrative that highlights the versatility of the featured garments. This work leans into a clean, graphic sensibility, where the juxtaposition of bold patterns and muted backgrounds emphasizes an editorial aesthetic that is both timeless and strikingly modern, cementing a distinct visual identity through masterful composition and an unwavering commitment to minimalist refinement.
