Hotel Peter & Paul
Brand Identity

Nov 2019
Hotel Peter & Paul in New Orleans transcends typical hospitality branding, establishing a tactile and narrative-driven visual identity that feels deeply rooted in its historical architecture. The project, brought to life through the meticulous graphic design of Alizée Freudenthal, leans into an aesthetic of quiet luxury and Southern charm, utilizing a vibrant palette of mustard yellow and cream against the textured backdrop of repurposed schoolhouse and rectory structures. The branding suite demonstrates a sophisticated command of commercial typography and layout, where clean sans-serif and elegant serif fonts are paired with delicate gold-foil line art of the property’s cathedrals. The execution feels remarkably intentional, from the playful, clever door hangers reading Let Resting Guests Lie to the custom-designed lapel pins and ceramic vessels that act as bespoke guest amenities. By blending minimalist editorial design with organic touches like dried florals and fresh citrus, the identity maintains a welcoming, high-end atmosphere that feels both professional and intimately human. Through high-angle photography and natural light, the campaign successfully mirrors the hotel's storied atmosphere, using embossing, debossing, and premium paper textures to elevate every touchpoint. This is a masterclass in holistic hospitality design, where the identity does not merely inform the guest but actively shapes their stay, turning functional elements like matchboxes and guest directories into cherished, collectible artifacts of the brand's unique personality.
