Flow State is a fashion editorial series commissioned for Harper's Bazaar Australia, exploring the intersection of movement and materiality. Under the creative direction of Justin Woo, the project features a series of portraits set against surreal, reflective liquid metallic structures and cascading water environments. Photographer Justin Ridler employs clean, soft studio lighting to accentuate the textures of the subjects' garments against these abstract, fluid backgrounds. Fashion stylist Jillian Davison curates a selection of draped dresses, sequined gowns, and structured silhouettes, pairing them with sharp, wet-look finger waves by hairstylist Ashleigh Carpenter. The series leans into a polished, editorial aesthetic, utilizing 3D render and CGI techniques to craft a mirrored, sculptural environment that blurs the lines between static portraiture and liquid motion.
