Harper's Bazaar Germany: Grey Flannel

Description

Grey Flannel is a fashion editorial feature produced for Harper's Bazaar Germany. The project centers on a series of portrait and full-length compositions that explore the sculptural possibilities of tailored wool and silk garments. Photographed by Dima Hohlov, the imagery leans into a moody, atmospheric aesthetic, utilising directional lighting to accentuate fabric textures and clean, architectural silhouettes against dark, heavily textured studio backgrounds. The editorial, overseen by Editor-in-Chief Kerstin Schneider, features model Alla Kostromichova throughout the series. The aesthetic is defined by a desaturated, monochromatic color palette, with many frames incorporating the raw, tactile quality of analogue film and grainy, high-contrast textures. Hair styling by Tie Toyama and makeup by Megumi Itano maintain a polished, minimal focus, allowing the sharp tailoring of the grey flannel and wool-blend pieces to take precedence in the final layout.
