Petal Pushers

Jul 2026
In Petal Pushers, an editorial feature for Financial Times’ HTSI magazine, photographer Daniyel Lowden explores the intersection of high fashion and pastoral tranquility. Set within the lush, verdant confines of a vibrant garden, the project leans into a narrative of organic elegance, where the boundary between the subject and their environment becomes fluid. Fashion editor and stylist Benjamin Canares masterfully curates a wardrobe that juxtaposes structured outerwear and utility-inspired accents with delicate, floral-patterned ensembles, grounding the high-end pieces in a raw, tactile reality. Through a series of captures that emphasize natural light and shallow depth of field, the work evokes a quiet, documentary-style perspective on modern lifestyle aesthetics. Model Chloe Paredes brings a calm, grounded presence to the series, her relaxed expressions echoing the serene atmosphere created by the dappled sunlight. Complementing this visual storytelling, hair by Masayoshi Fujita and makeup by Claire Urquhart maintain a soft, natural finish that prioritizes authentic texture over artifice. By weaving together the vibrant greens of the foliage with carefully selected textiles, the project creates a visual dialogue between curated sartorial choices and the untamed beauty of the botanical world, ultimately offering a sophisticated meditation on harmony in nature.
