Ring Ring Ring is a fashion editorial feature for Fantastic Man, centering on the recurring motif of the classic green Japanese public payphone. Photographed by Bruno Staub, the series explores the intersection of classic menswear tailoring and urban public infrastructure, utilizing a documentary-style approach to capture candid moments of communication and transit. The project leverages analogue film photography to achieve a distinct, grainy texture that complements the architectural lines of the booths and the tactile quality of the layered garments. Fashion editor Jason Rider curates a variety of eclectic ensembles, ranging from pinstriped shirting and knotted neckties to soft mohair cardigans, while makeup artist Takenaka supports the series with clean, natural aesthetics. Spanning both monochrome and pastel-toned vertical compositions, the editorial relies on soft, natural light and high-contrast film techniques to emphasize the subject’s interactions with the telephone hardware.
