FOR SEVEN NIGHTS, THIS CASTLE IS MINE

Jun 2026
For Seven Nights, This Castle Is Mine, a compelling editorial project for Elle Kazakhstan, presents a striking dialogue between high-fashion couture and the raw, unrefined decay of a historic manor house. Captured through the lens of photographer Anastasia Fursova with art direction by Alex Klop, the campaign leans into a cinematic aesthetic that juxtaposes voluminous, architectural silhouettes against peeling plaster and weathered stone. Fashion editor and stylist Yulia Ivanova skillfully contrasts metallic textures and dramatic puff sleeves with the muted, rustic backdrop of the crumbling estate, ensuring each look feels both contemporary and grounded in a historical atmosphere. Model Batura Aliaksandra carries this narrative with poise, moving through the space in outfits that range from structured, military-inspired jackets to ethereal, ruffled skirts. Many of the portraits utilize natural light to emphasize the interplay between the intricate, graphic makeup and the decaying environment, creating a visual tension that feels intentional and evocative. By leveraging editorial portraiture and low-key chiaroscuro lighting, the team creates a moody, immersive experience where the clothing serves as an extension of the architectural decay. This collaboration succeeds by grounding experimental fashion within a tactile, lived-in world, ultimately delivering a series that reads as a sophisticated exploration of heritage, volume, and texture.
