Elle Italia
Colored Summer

Mar 2026
For the Colored Summer editorial feature, Elle Italia leans into a sophisticated dialogue between structural minimalism and bold, chromatic expression. Shot by photographer Giampaolo Sgura, the project curates a narrative that oscillates between the quiet intimacy of medium format portraiture and the precise, polished aesthetic of high-fashion studio work. The visual language captures a deliberate tension; one moment, it utilizes high-contrast natural light to emphasize the ethereal texture of hair and skin, while the next, it pivots to the sharp, clean reliability of studio strobe lighting to foreground the avant-garde styling of Ivana Spernicelli. By pairing utilitarian jumpsuits and draped capes with unconventional accessories like leather harnesses and metallic chokers, the series reinterprets seasonal luxury through a contemporary lens. Model Emma Rose Higgins anchors the editorial, moving fluidly between moments of repose and assertive, direct engagement with the lens. The collaboration, overseen by Editor-in-Chief Manuela Ravasio and supported by the intricate beauty work of hair stylist Kiril Vasilev and makeup artist Luca Cianciolo, creates a cohesive rhythmic experience. This project serves as a masterclass in editorial portraiture, demonstrating how the intersection of texture, color, and sharp tailoring can redefine the standard luxury fashion shoot. Each frame avoids unnecessary clutter, proving that when the casting and composition are this refined, the interplay of shadow and light becomes the true protagonist of the narrative.
