Double Vision
Doutzen Kroes by Luigi & Iango

Apr 2026
In a masterclass of visual restraint and tonal precision, photographers Luigi and Iango return to their signature high-fashion roots to capture Dutch icon Doutzen Kroes. This expansive editorial portrait series strips away the noise, leaning into a strictly monochrome palette that allows texture and form to take center stage. Through the lens of the iconic duo, Kroes is transformed into a study of cinematic stillness, outfitted in structured leather jackets and minimalist silhouettes that channel an era of timeless, hard-edged elegance. The work employs sophisticated studio strobe and low-key chiaroscuro lighting techniques to carve out depth, creating a high-contrast aesthetic that feels both raw and impeccably polished. By utilizing medium format clarity, the series focuses intensely on the interplay between the model’s voluminous, cascading waves and the tactile, cold sheen of premium leathers. The collaboration relies heavily on the nuanced fashion styling of Elanur Erdoğan, while the clean, atmospheric finish is sharpened by the precise work of hair stylist Lauren Berrones and makeup artist Georgi Sandev. As an exercise in editorial portraiture, the project eschews complex narratives in favor of pure, striking composition. It is a testament to the power of the portrait, proving that when the gaze is captured with enough intention, a single frame becomes a definitive statement within the luxury fashion landscape.
