HANDLE WITH CARE

Aug 2026
In a striking interplay between industrial utility and high-fashion sensibility, the project titled HANDLE WITH CARE for D Repubblica offers a masterclass in editorial minimalism. This fashion campaign masterfully navigates the boundary between the mundane and the surreal, placing its subjects within the stark confines of large wooden shipping crates to juxtapose raw material with couture precision. Under the sharp eye of photographer Gabriele Rosati, the work leans into an artistic, clean aesthetic defined by high-key lighting and a pervasive sense of deliberate, soft-lit stillness. The creative narrative is anchored by the precise styling of Fashion Editor Matteo Maggini, whose selection of structured military-inspired jackets, oversized pussy-bow ties, and floor-sweeping black coats provides a rigid, architectural contrast to the exposed wood of the sets. The visual identity of the shoot is further defined by the contributions of set designer Flavia Manacorda, who constructs a clinical, gallery-like environment, and hair stylist Dora Roberti, whose deliberate styling—often obscuring the model's gaze—forces the audience to focus on the interplay of textile and form. By eschewing over-saturated color palettes in favor of a restrained, monochromatic focus, this series successfully transforms the shipping crate from a logistical necessity into a pedestal for avant-garde expression. It is a calculated, compelling exploration of structure, poise, and the quiet power of editorial photography.
