D Repubblica's editorial feature 'EYES WITHOUT A FACE' is a series of portrait and group compositions that lean into moody, cinematic storytelling. The project explores themes of identity and abstraction through a lens of high-contrast photography, frequently employing low-key / chiaroscuro lighting to isolate texture and form against minimalist backgrounds. Photographer Casper Sejersen leads the production, working alongside fashion editor Ally Macrae to establish a surreal, architectural atmosphere. The imagery blends stark studio portraits with staged group arrangements, utilizing analogue / film techniques to create soft grain and atmospheric depth. With hair styling by Olivier Schawalder and makeup by Lisa Michalik, the work places heavy emphasis on tactile details, from curly hair textures to muted, matte lip tones.
