British Vogue presents 'Bride,' a fashion editorial series that explores contemporary bridal aesthetics through an experimental lens. The project leans into a raw, tactile approach, utilizing monochrome imagery and analogue film techniques to frame bridal wear within both wild, organic outdoor settings and domestic interiors. Photographer Ben Toms leads the visual direction, capturing model Freya Nutter in a variety of sculptural and lace-heavy ensembles that contrast traditional notions of bridal fashion. The series emphasizes materiality and composition, with fashion editor and stylist Jessica Gerardi curating textured, avant-garde pieces that range from voluminous gowns to sheer, layered veils. The project features set design by Harry Stayt, hair by Naoki Komiya, and makeup by Bea Sweet, collectively establishing a gritty, high-contrast aesthetic that focuses on the interplay of natural light and shadow.
