Belong
Second Life Phones
Jan 2025
Belong’s Second Life Phones campaign explores the circularity of mobile technology through an atmospheric lens. Produced by Howatson+Company, the project highlights the tactile reality of hardware, shifting focus from typical telecommunications tropes toward a more visceral, material-led narrative. The film utilizes extreme macro cinematography to map the surfaces of devices and organic textures, treating micro-details as sweeping topographical landscapes. With a gritty, cinematic aesthetic, the work leans into grainy visual textures and tight focus to elevate the concept of recycled tech. Production services were provided by Rabbit, with post-production and VFX handled by White Chocolate and Stage23 VFX. Sound design for the campaign was composed by White Bat Audio and Rumble.
