Beauty Papers Issue #12 2024 serves as a showcase for contemporary editorial portraiture, featuring a series of covers that span high-contrast monochrome, experimental motion blur, and raw, glossy beauty photography. The publication leans into a minimalist aesthetic, utilizing clean studio lighting and neutral backdrops to emphasize the tactile details of the subjects and their styling. The project was guided by creative director Valerie Wickes and editor-in-chief Maxine Leonard, with contributions from photographers including Gabriel Moses, Zoë Ghertner, and Davit Giorgadze. The covers feature portraiture of entertainers such as Travis Scott and Charli xcx, alongside a diverse cast of models, capturing a range of graphic, retro-inspired, and highly textured visuals.
