At Large Magazine
POP LUXE

May 2026
The POP LUXE project for At Large Magazine serves as a masterclass in modern editorial photography, distilling the essence of luxury fashion houses into a series of stark, high-concept portraits. Through the lens of photographer Willy Lukaitis, the project leans into a minimalist aesthetic that prioritizes form, texture, and graphic composition over elaborate staging. The visual language is defined by a dichotomy between high-contrast chiaroscuro lighting, which emphasizes the sculptural qualities of leather and heavy textiles, and the crisp, even illumination of studio strobe setups against neutral backdrops. Stylist Cristina Holmes curates an array of bold silhouettes, from oversized tailoring to vibrant, striped textiles, creating a visual tension that feels both timeless and aggressively current. Model Katherine Wilkey anchors the editorial, her precise movements and neutral gaze facilitating a study in negative space and geometric precision. With the support of hair stylist Anton Alexander and makeup artist Jamal Scott, the editorial maintains a polished, avant-garde edge throughout. Casting director Barbara Pfister ensures that every frame remains focused on the interplay between the subject and the accessory, elevating simple lifestyle poses into elevated portraits. This project successfully channels the clean, deliberate energy of high-end editorial layouts, proving that when light and styling are executed with such exacting discipline, the resulting imagery becomes a powerful statement of contemporary fashion identity.
