Ancestry explores the process of genealogical discovery in this commercial film, which traces the tactile experience of unearthing family history. The narrative centers on an archive space filled with historical documents, passenger lists, and vintage photographs, before shifting to an expansive industrial set adorned with suspended paper ephemera. Produced with a cinematic aesthetic, the work employs natural lighting and a grainy texture to lean into a nostalgic tone. The project was created by Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney, with production by Scoundrel (Australia) and VFX and post-production work by Fin Design + Effects.
