Air New Zealand’s Pōkarekare Ana is a cinematic exploration of Aotearoa’s landscapes, interweaving sweeping aerial vistas with intimate musical performances. Produced in collaboration with FCB New Zealand and Sweetshop NZ, the project captures a vast, braided river valley through drone footage and natural light, grounding the atmosphere in a sense of place. The narrative follows a man in an embroidered suit performing an acoustic rendition of the traditional waiata, supported by a chorus. The production emphasizes a warm, nostalgic aesthetic through its atmospheric grading, bridging the connection between the country’s natural environment and the cultural resonance of the song.
