Wenjia, originally hailing from Jiangsu, China, embarked on a transformative journey to the United States at the age of 15. She honed her artistic talents at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration in 2017. Shortly after graduation, she set her sights on New York, embracing the vibrant illustration scene. Wenjia's exceptional body of work spans a diverse array of editorial projects, earning her prestigious clients such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Variety Magazine, and The Atlantic. In 2018, she made her mark in the literary world with the publication of her debut picture book, "Up & Down," which showcases her unique narrative style and visual storytelling. Her artistry has garnered recognition from esteemed organizations, including the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Communication Arts, and 3×3 Magazine, affirming her position as a rising star in the illustration community. Drawing inspiration from the vintage screen prints and retro illustrations of the 1950s, Wenjia masterfully blends traditional aesthetics with modern techniques. Despite her digital medium, she infuses her work with rich textures, creating a sense of warmth and organic charm that captivates viewers. Through her art, Wenjia continues to explore the intersection of nostalgia and contemporary life, inviting audiences into her imaginative world.
