Bio

Vincent Fournier, born in 1970 in Ouagadougou, is a visionary French photographic artist whose work masterfully navigates the realms of imagination, blending the echoes of the past with visions of the future. His captivating series—such as *Space Project*, which delves into the allure of space exploration; *The Man Machine*, exploring the essence of humanoid robots; and *Brazilia* and *Kosmic Memories*, which present utopian architectural dreams—reflect a profound inquiry into the human condition and our relationship with technology. Furthermore, his groundbreaking projects like *Post Natural History*, *Auctus animalis*, and *Flora Incognita* invite us to reconsider the reinvention of life itself. Fournier's artistic vision is deeply rooted in childhood memories, particularly inspired by visits to the Palais de la Découverte, where the wonders of science ignited his imagination. While photography remains his primary medium, he occasionally integrates 3D printing, animation, and installations to create immersive experiences that engage the viewer on multiple levels. In 2017, Fournier collaborated with NASA to capture a stunning photographic series of all the Space Centers across the United States. His work gained international recognition when he was invited to present at the MET's *In Our Time* conference in 2019. His accolades include the prestigious Swiss Life 4 Hands Award in 2022, and in 2023, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature dedicated a monographic exhibition to him titled *Uchronie*. This exhibition sparked a series of insightful round-table discussions featuring influential authors such as Enki Bilal, Alain Damassio, Vinciane Despret, Christophe Galfard, Patrick Gyger, and Ariel Kirou. Fournier's acclaimed series *Space Utopia* will be showcased at the City of Science and Industry from 2023 to 2024. His works are part of several prestigious permanent collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris, the LVMH Collection at Le Bon Marché in Paris, and the Black Gold Museum in Riyadh, among others. Notable exhibitions featuring his work include *Art and Science Fiction* at the Centre Pompidou Metz (2022), *Unknown Unknowns* at Triennale di Milano (2022), and *Civilization* at MUCEM in Marseille (2020). His impactful solo exhibitions comprise *Uchronie* at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (2023), *Alive* at the EDF-Electra Foundation in Paris (2013), and *Rencontres d’Arles* (2013). Fournier has also lent his artistic talents to collaborations with renowned brands such as Louis Vuitton (under Nicolas Ghesquière), Le Bon Marché in Paris, and even contributed to the film *The Amazing Spider-Man II* with Columbia Pictures. His work continues to inspire and provoke thought, pushing the boundaries of contemporary art and inviting audiences to ponder the possibilities of our collective future.
