Bio

Simone Cavadini (b. 1988) is a distinguished Swiss Italian still life photographer whose artistic journey unfolds in the vibrant city of Paris. Cavadini's creative foundation was laid in 2008 when he earned his diploma in graphic design from the Art School in Lugano. He further honed his skills in photography at the University of Art and Design Lausanne (ECAL), where he graduated in 2012. This period of academic exploration was pivotal, as he seamlessly integrated graphic design with photography, setting the stage for his unique artistic vision. Upon relocating to Paris, Cavadini embraced the role of first assistant to renowned photographer Guido Mocafico, an experience that enriched his technical prowess and artistic sensibility. This immersion in a professional environment allowed him to refine his approach before embarking on his independent practice, blending fine art with applied arts. Central to Cavadini's work is an ongoing investigation into the interplay between photography and graphic design. Through a combination of methodical and experimental techniques, he conveys the principle that the essence of a design solution naturally arises from its content. This philosophy informs both his commissioned pieces and personal artistic endeavors, resulting in work that is both visually striking and conceptually profound. Cavadini's talent has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the prestigious Swiss Federal Design Award and selection for the New York Photo Festival. His impressive portfolio features collaborations with esteemed fashion and design houses such as Chanel, Givenchy, Chaumet, and Issey Miyake, as well as prominent publications like Numéro, Kinfolk, and Yet Magazine, among others. With each project, Simone Cavadini continues to push the boundaries of still life photography, inviting viewers to appreciate the sophisticated dialogue between image and design.
