Robin De Puy is a celebrated Dutch photographer renowned for her deeply intimate and evocative portraits that resonate with authenticity and emotional depth. With a unique ability to weave her own narrative through the faces of others, Robin's work invites viewers into the stories of her subjects, creating a powerful connection that lingers long after the image is seen. Her artistic journey began at the Photoacademy Rotterdam, where she quickly distinguished herself, winning the prestigious Photo Academy Award in 2009 for her groundbreaking series “Girls in Prostitution.” Her talent continued to shine as she garnered the National Portrait Prize in both 2013 and 2019, solidifying her reputation as a formidable force in contemporary photography. Robin has had the privilege of capturing iconic figures such as Bernie Sanders, Marina Abramovic, Jane Goodall, and Sifan Hassan. Her compelling portraits have graced the pages of esteemed publications including Harper's Bazaar, Die Zeit Magazine, and LINDA. In addition to her commissioned work, Robin's personal projects have garnered critical acclaim, particularly her series ‘The Americans,’ ‘Down By The Water,’ and ‘If This is True.’ A highlight of her career came in 2015 when she embarked on a 10,000 km road trip across the United States on a Harley Davidson. This transformative journey culminated in the publication of her book, ‘If This Is True, I’ll Never Have to Leave Home Again,’ which offers a poignant reflection of her experiences. The road trip was also captured in a documentary by Simone de Vries and Maarten van Rossem, earning a nomination for an International Emmy Award in 2017. Robin’s work has been exhibited in prestigious institutions and galleries worldwide, including the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht (2018), Museum Hilversum (2017), The Hague Museum of Photography (2016), Stedelijk Museum Breda (2016), and Photoville in New York (2016). Her powerful imagery is included in major public and private collections such as the Bonnefantenmuseum, De Nederlandse Bank in Amsterdam, Museum Voorlinden in Wassenaar, Centraal Museum Utrecht, Fotomuseum Den Haag, Huis Marseille in Amsterdam, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague.
