Renny Maslow, a New York native now residing in Los Angeles, is a visionary photographer whose work delves into the intricate relationship between humanity and the urban environment. With an artistic eye that seeks beauty amidst the grit and chaos of cityscapes, Maslow captures the essence of modern life through his lens. After earning a degree in film from Northwestern University, Maslow launched his career in New York as a film editor, where he quickly established a distinctive comedic style that marries understated humor with striking visuals. His talents led him to direct commercials for the renowned US/UK production company SMUGGLER, collaborating with high-profile brands such as ESPN, M&M’s, Apple, and British Telecom. Over the years, he has worked alongside celebrated personalities like LeBron James, Jimmy Fallon, and John Cena, and his commercial prowess was recognized with an EMMY AWARD for Best Sports Promo, highlighting his Super Bowl advertisements for Bud Light and NFL on FOX. Currently, he is represented by CHROMISTA for his commercial work. Maslow’s extensive travels as a director have allowed him to immerse himself in diverse environments, where he captures the unique characters, architecture, and social dynamics of each locale through his still photography. In 2020, he embarked on a significant photographic endeavor titled "SIGNS OF LIFE," a project that reflects his enduring fascination with the juxtaposition of manmade structures and the natural world. This body of work seeks to uncover a unifying beauty amid the chaos and conflict inherent in urban landscapes. "SIGNS OF LIFE" debuted in April 2024 at The Good Mother Gallery in Los Angeles, followed by a showcase in August 2024 in , California. Through this project, Maslow continues to engage viewers, inviting them to reconsider their perceptions of beauty in contemporary society.
