Founded in 1991, Platinum emerged as a pioneering force in the world of visual imagery, thanks to the vision of photographer Leonardo Vilela. After returning from an enriching experience in Paris, where he delved deep into photography and the nascent field of CGI, Vilela set out to redefine image creation in Brazil. His journey was marked by a commitment to innovation, which soon attracted the talents of designer Flavio Albino. As a key collaborator, Albino took the reins of postproduction, enhancing the studio’s reputation for quality and creativity. By 2001, Platinum had established itself as a leader in producing striking imagery for the publishing industry, earning accolades for its forward-thinking approach. To further diversify its offerings, the partners welcomed illustrator Luciano Honorato, who spearheaded the development of a dedicated 3D division, solidifying Platinum's status as a powerhouse in visual storytelling. The studio’s relentless pursuit of cutting-edge tools and techniques has defined its identity, garnering recognition at prestigious advertising festivals, including Cannes, Clio, and NYF. Notably, one of their award-winning creations found a permanent home at the Louvre, a testament to the studio's artistic excellence. In 2017, Platinum celebrated 25 years of innovation by expanding its creative horizons once again. The addition of André Régnier, a seasoned expert in advertising with over two decades of experience, brought new perspectives to the team. Together with T.I. specialist Daniel Porto, who has been instrumental in advancing motion control and high-speed image capture since 2013, they collaborated to launch Platinum Films. This new venture aims to translate the studio’s commitment to excellence into the realm of filmmaking, particularly in tabletop production. Within its first year, Platinum Films has already made waves, producing exceptional work for notable brands such as Bob’s, Petrobras, and Cervejaria Itaipava. With a strong foundation built on meticulous planning and investment in talent and infrastructure, Platinum is poised to offer tailored solutions that cater to a diverse range of client needs. At the heart of Platinum's mission lies an unwavering dedication to innovation and a unique aesthetic, whether in still images or dynamic visual narratives. As they continue to push artistic boundaries, Platinum remains a beacon of creativity in the ever-evolving landscape of visual arts.
