Bio

Petra Kleis is a Danish photographer and visual storyteller, celebrated for her candid and evocative portraiture. A graduate of Copenhagen Technical College in 2011, Petra has collaborated with renowned brands such as Stine Goya, Adidas, and Fila, capturing the essence of diverse personalities including Paul Smith, Diplo, HM The Queen of Denmark, Isabel Marant, and King Krule. Her striking imagery has graced the pages of prestigious publications like Numéro, The Guardian, Eurowoman, Dossier, GQ, and Vice, showcasing her unique ability to blend artistry with contemporary culture. In 2019, Petra released her acclaimed book, *Girlification*, which quickly sold out due to its powerful exploration of the dynamic between artist and muse. This visually arresting work chronicles her three-year journey with artist Maja Malou Lyse, celebrating her spirit and playful creativity. The book serves as a bold examination of femininity through the lens of erotic photography, drawing inspiration from trailblazers such as Juergen Teller, Nan Goldin, and Helmut Newton. *Girlification* delves into the complexities of the modern digital landscape, addressing themes of internet pornography, nude selfies, the #MeToo movement, and the challenges of social media censorship. Through her lens, Petra Kleis invites viewers to engage with provocative narratives, redefining the role of the female muse in today's artistic dialogue.
